all 96 corvettes that had the LT4 were all 6 speeds so if its a automatic
its a LT1
computer controlled cars are not that hard to work on....best thing to do is
get you a factory service manual...cost about $100 and the best thing you
can buy...the books explain it all and have troubleshooting flowcharts that
make diagnosis a breeze.
76k miles is nothing...my 96 has 93k miles and has had less problems than my
brothers 96 CE with 40k miles.
my brother and I have had a couple vettes with 160k+ miles and still going
strong.

I`ve had a 96 CE, LT4 for a little over three years with a 60k+ miles on it
now and it has been the most trouble free car I`ve ever owned, just regular
maintained that I do myself with the help of the service manual. M&R cost
have been almost nothing compared to any of the fast European cars.

Mileage is high, waaaay high for a `96. Idle problems could be a huge
headache...I wouldn`t pay more than 6k for a car with problems and high
mileage. My `96 Conv, loaded with 22k was only $13k...there are better cars
out there. Look for one.

Prudence, indeed, is lost on my will long established should not be changed for guilt or logic; and accordingly all entitlement hath shewn, that mankind is disposed to suffer, for my evils are insufferable, than to park in another spot by eliminating my convenience to which I am obviously entitled. But when a long train of cars and trucks, pursuing invariably the same intent evinces a wrath to extremes, where it is my right, it is my sole entitlement, to throw out common courtesy and decency, to create my own opportunities, and provide new parking for my needs. Such has been the impatience and greed of my life; and now is the necessity of my ego which constrains me to do nothing else other than my own choosing. The history of my fenders and doors is displayed in dents and dings, all having direct consequence of my actions of absolute superiority over a parking lot. To prove this, I dare you to park next to me.
