I own a 95 Black on Black 6 speed 95 with both tops... car now has 65K
on the clock... I was offered $12,500 for it as a trade in on a 50
Anniv Ragtop last year.....The car is in good enough shape for me to
show it in the wash and show class with about 3 minutes worth of
detailing
Did I trade it... Hell no !
The 50th just would NOT give me $43,000 worth of new smiles....

I may have the opportunity to buy a 96 Vette. It`s a Collector`s Edition
and has 76K miles. The body is original and spotless, leather interior,
t-top with both tops, auto trans, and plenty of amenities. Now...with
that said, it idles around 2k rpm, has a smell coming from under the hood
(I couldn`t identify it), check engine light is on, traction control
won`t turn off and needs a good interior cleaning.
The deal is I have to make an offer. Highest offer gets it. Book value is
around $17,500.
Any opinions here?
Thanks,

When you say the CE - do you mean the 96 Gran Sport - blue with white
stripes? I love the look of that car. Almost a purple blue. You should
definitely buy it! Just have your local GM dealer tell you what it will cost
to fix, and lower that from book.
