Two points to consider:
(My 2000 C5 came from a Florida dealer through an Ebay auction)
1. Carfax was not accurate for my car. It indicated no accidents, however
the passenger door skin had a crack where the hinges attach. I didn`t catch
it untill I was 1000 miles away. (Out of site warranty) That repair cost
roughly $2000
2. Florida is a pretty hot place. I`d be concerned with plastic pieces on
the interior "drying up". I know it sounds crazy, you`ll think of me when
you`re looking for a volume control know for your radio on the internet. I
found one. ($10)
You`ll probably have to put new tires on it. Mine were bald at 36,000 when
I bought the car. Not being a car expert, I have no way of knowing what 50%
tread remaing really means. I can tell you that 50% tread on my Goodyear
non-emt tires means they need replacing. Unless you want to get dogged by a
rustang because you can`t hook up.
See through roof panels get crazing on them and peel from the heat. Roughly
$600-700 on Ebay (1100 dealer)
So if I was buying it-- (and at 100,000 miles for 11-12K I would probably
pass) I`d allow about $3000 to bring it "up to speed" also consider those
wheels. The 5 spokes are another $1200 roughly.

Thanks, Stan. It`s academic now. It`s been bid over $14,000 while I`ve
been tracking it, and I`m not willing to go that high for that many miles.

That`s probably a steal
15k per year 7 years = 105k on the clock. $ 14K for a $40 K car?
I have an `01 convertible loaded with 67k on the odo , Red.
I`ll buy a C-6 when they`re out and I `ll sell the `01 with 100k miles.
35 miles each way to the office for my girlfriend 5 days a week . All
service done by the dealer.
The car is perfect , Florida car, Garaged every night, under a carport every
day. Washed every week or 2.
It shows wear on the drivers seat where she gets in and out, that`s it.
I hope it`s worth more than $14,000 when I sell it.
I have a 79 with 100,000 miles and I spend more on maintaining a car that
only averaged 4,000 miles per year
